How to make this Illustrator file fit as a YouTube channel art

I need help perfectly cropping this picture so it fits onto the YouTube channel art area:

At the moment, it doesn't look the way I want it to.

I have tried cropping it to 2560 x 1440px that Google recommends but it still looks terrible.

How do I make it so that I can see the whole picture when I am looking at it on a desktop?

    Not sure what you want with 2560 x 1440 px. Apparently the towel strip is much smaller. A simple web search brings up enough info on that, i.e. it's effectively something like 1280 x 350 px. That means you need to mark out the strip using guides and fit the image into it as best as you can.
