I was thinking about envelopes, but that would be too imprecise

Then applying it to a cylinder in the 3D effect (classic)

But I think, maybe a blend can do.

You draw a thin dashed line and then a thick one and then blend between them. Adjust the number of steps so that it matches.

Outline the blend and the lines when done.
