How to make units stick as inches in Illustrator preferences!!

Question

Do your prefernces always revert back to pixels after you change them to inches upon quitting?? I FINALLY found a solution!!!!!

Create a new document and change the units to inches and change the presets name to the same as the one you opened, click CREATE! Quit Illustrator and reopen it, look at the units preferences: They remained in INCHES!!! So, I have 2 new document presets: LETTER & A4, both defaut in inches! Now when I drag say a PDF or a PSD into Ilustrator, it opens in INCHES!!!!
