How to receive Timer event when Illustrator application is minimised?

I have added a timer in the plug-in, but I did not get timer events when Illustrator application is minimized.

How can I receive Timer event when Illustrator application is minimized?

Now that's interesting! I wonder if that's the expected behaviour or if it's a bug in Illustrator.

Unfortunately, if that's the case I doubt there's a way to tell Illustrator to to it. If you want consistent timer messages, you may have to tie into the OS directly.
