This font is part of the Illustrator application. I anm afraid that if you remove it, it will come back with the next update.

Hi @maxwell330624900oxg

Ton is correct. This font is installed on your machine with the Illustrator application, and you can find it under Support Files > Required > Fonts in the Illustrator application folder. May I ask why you want to remove this font?

Regards,

Srishti

This font does not copy over well with tabs from illustrator to photoshop, yet it's always a go to condensed font to use, so i just wanted to get it out of the mix.

Hello @maxwell330624900oxg,

Thanks for sharing the details. As posted earlier, this font is installed as a part of the Illustrator application and I would recommend not to remove it.

Feel free to reach out if you have more questions or need assistance. We'd be happy to help.

Is there a way to remove it for good even when illustrator is updated? I want to use Acumin Pro, but t seems like the Variable concept is overrinding it so i am not able to use it. Besides it has lots of missing glyphs and and lack support for many languaage, it's "bloatware" at this point.

To remove the Acumin Variable Concept font file on the Windows platform you have to find and delete the font file in this folder:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator 2025\Support Files\Required\Fonts

You'll have to do the delete process every time Illustrator gets a full update.

I'm not seeing a conflict between Acumin VF and Acumin Variable Concept. The two fonts get along just fine in my computer system.

In my case, upon saving AI files, when I reopen them, each letter/glyph is suddenly out of the text box and appearing as a separate element on the artboard. Half my text (also Acumin) is fine, but the other half is doing this. I noticed it happening in half my files I worked on yesterday. Seems to be no way to fix it..

Are you sure you saved them as AI files? And not PDF?

Yes, very sure. I've been troubleshooting for 2 days. All files are AI. Some are okay, some not. I managed to get it to work for now. I saw Adobe Fonts had installed versions of Acumin Pro so I deactivated those (all versions outside Illustrator). Then I saved as new files, not over the existing ones, and they seem okay for now. Hopefully that's the end of it.
