Hello,
I have an artboard with an Photoshop image on top, overlapping it, and when saving it as PDF the problem is that the whole PSD data gots obviously saved into the pdf and not only the part over the artboard, eg. 20% of all.
i know the function "Cut image to artboard" (or so) but this cant be redone afterwards.
I need this overlapping, because we often change the desired position of the psd over the artboard and save it then.
How to save only the artboard data in the psd?
Ok, thanks,

Is this a Photoshop or an Illustrator question?
What exactly is the process you are trying to describe?

Its an illustrator question (in the Illustrator forum).
- create artboard
- put psd in it, bigger than artboard
- click save as
expected result: pdf with data from artboard
real result: pdf with data from artboard and outside artboard ("hiddendata") which is bigger
There is a tool within acrobat to delete the hidden data, but we dont want this extra step.

This thread is a bit old
Re: Save as pdf: clip stuff outside artboard
but as far as I can tell Indesign’s »Crop Image Data to Frame«-PDF-setting still eludes Illustrator.

Hi there,
The workaround is to use Acrobat, however, you can submit this as a feature request for Illustrator using this link: Adobe Illustrator Feedback

Om
