Hey guys,

So I know this is a dumb question. but how do I split this 1200px/270px rectangle into perfect squares. I've used the rectangular grid tool but keep getting rectangles and not perfect squares. Iv tried splittig the rectangle using the "split to gird" function but still dont get perfect squares. The picture below shows the attempt at using the rectangular grid tool. I know this is probably simple math but I just cant figure it out. Can anyone help?

One problem is 1200px X 270px is only divisible into perfect squares if your squares are only 10px X 10px -meaning a grid of 120 X 27 squares. I'm not a math whiz, so maybe I could be missing a higher common denominator.

If the size footprint doesn't have to be 1200px X 270px you could just start with a square of a certain desired size and then just duplicate out a new grid of squares from that.

Andrew, Bobby,

Both are divisible by 30, which would give 40 x 9 squares, but I agree that it could be much better, even with minor changes: just choosing 300 instead of 270 would give 4 x 1 squares; if 270 is crucial and 1200 less so, similarly with 1080 x 270 (4 x 1) or 1350 x 270 (5 x 1).
