How to turn-off automatic Numbered Lists in Illustrator

i'm making some simple labels and i want them numbered example: "1. item one" but i just want to type the numbers in myself as i want to treat them as separate textframes, but whenever i type in "1." it turns it into a numbered list. it is really annoying. anyway to stop this? [renamed by mod]

Thanks for reaching out. Would you mind turning off the Automatic Bulleted and Numbered lists option while typing under Illustrator Type preferences to check if it helps?
