A plugin I no longer use is marked as "Not compatible" in Adobe CC. How do I remove this plugin from my account. Other "compatible" plugins have the functionality to uninstall, but for some reason incompatible plugins do not? Thanks.

Correct answer Anubhav M

Thanks Anubhav,

I can confirm there are no plugins in that directory.

How do I remove plugins that are "acquired under your account," but do not have an uninstall option because it is marked as "Not compatible" in the Creative Cloud app as shown in the attached screenshot?

Thanks.

Hello @2671630,

Thanks for confirming that. Acquired plugins are associated with your account and will appear even if not installed on your computer. They cannot be removed from the list.

Feel free to reach out if you need further assistance in the future. We'd be happy to help.

Thanks,

Anubhav

Hello @2671630,

Thanks for reaching out. Kindly try the following steps to manually remove legacy plugins and check if it helps:

  • Close all Adobe applications

  • For macOS - Delete plugin files from /Applications > [AiVersion] > Plug-ins
For Windows - Delete plugin files from C:\Program Files > Adobe > [AiVersion] > Plug-ins

  • Relaunch Illustrator

Looking forward to your response,

Anubhav

Hi Anubahv,

Thank you for the response. To clarify, I am referring to the plugins installed through the Creative Cloud "Stock & Marketplace".  Screenshot attached. The marketplae plugins are not installed in the application's Plug-ins folder as one might expect, and the Illustrator Plug-ins folder in the application folder is emtpy on my Mac.

There does not seem to be a way to remove these marketplace plugins manually, although if someone could point me to the directory they are installed in, that would be great. Or, if there is another way to remove a marketplace plugin flagged as "Not compatible" that would also be welcome.

Thanks in advance.

I downloaded some junk plugin for 1 day and decided it wasn't for me, and 3 years later it's still sitting there with no way of removing it from my list. Adobe must know that it's most dedicated users are people who are meticulous to the point of obsessive about curating their resources and assets. Certainly not my intention to "kill the messenger" as the old saying goes, but while this is the correct answer it's definitely not a satisfactory one. I'm making a 2024 to-do list, and bugging the programmers at Adobe until they fix this is definitely going in my top 10.
