Hello,
I would like to know how to make a feather just on one edge of the vecto shape.
I would like to have the same effect as done here:
I need it because I would like to use the same with my letters, I found this in freepik. Here is this case in illustrator file (Dropbox - what effect used.ai )
So, my question is: How was this effect done?
Thank you for any help!

why not do a mask, in that mask draw a rectangle that has a gradient that goes from black 100% to white 0% and place it the way you want it..

tjasak,
You can use an Opacity Mask as follows:
1) Create a path with a colour transition (gradient/blend/ahwtever works for the shape/curvature of the transition) between black and white and place it on top of the letter(s);
2) Select everything and in the Transparency palette flyout click Make Opacity Mask, with Clip unticked in the main palette and with Invert Mask ticked or unticked depending on whether white or black corresponds to full transparency (knocking out the letter(s)), you can just try both.
