Would you know how to draw this with a pencil and a set square? If so, you could probably achieve it after reading the following and practicing as you go:
How to get started with drawing in Illustrator
How to paint with fills and strokes in Illustrator
How to draw with the Pen, Curvature, or Pencil tool in Illustrator
How to use rulers, grids, and guides in Illustrator
and these would be useful to finish it off:

Thank you!
I have managed to do everything except for the black arrows, how would I build those?

Everything there is 45 degree and vertical lines. Use the pen tool and smart guides.

Thanks,
But the smart guides won't work, I cant get them on the exact correct position. I have followd the smart guides but they don't click where I want them to, what am I doing wrong?

You will need a grid.
(But unfortunately your "image" wasn't correctly created in a grid.)
And one note: a 45° grid is IMO not the best choice for an isometric grid.
At first create a grid

This is such a good answer thank you!
One question though, how do I build this isometric grid with 45 degrees?

Here I created a seamless pattern from a divided Hexagon shape.
I used that as my isometric grid.
Live Paint next. Random recolor.
Expand Live Paint.
Recolor as you wish.
Select same color. Pathfinders>Unite.

Draw a rectangle, then take your pen tool and add a center point on the top edge, and a center point on the bottom edge.
Next, take your hollow arrow tool, select both center points only and drag them down until it creates your chevron shape.

There's so many ways to do things in Illustrator. I would have used the Perspective Grid.

But you can't make an isometric grid with the perspective grid.

Good point Doug. I hadn't looked at it closely enough.
