Hi, the illustrator plugin that was packaged with my ZXP is no longer installing with cc2015 for windows. It does install for mac. In my .mxi file I have these lines:
<file destination="$plugin" file-type="plugin" minVersion="18" platform="win" products="Illustrator64" source="cs_resources/win64MyPlugin.aip"/>
<file destination="$plugin" file-type="plugin" minVersion="18" platform="mac" products="Illustrator" source="cs_resources/macMyPlugin.aip"/>
Does anyone know what needs to be changed to get the plugin to install in the plugins folder of CC2015 illustrator.
Thanks,
Bill

Is it a hybrid extension with a Creative Suite Extension for the gui as well as the plugin? I find that if Illustrator 2015 is installed the plugin part does not get installed in ANY CC version on Windows and Mac, so I am surprised it is working on Mac for you:
Looks like Adobe exchange is having problems too:

Yes, we have it working fine for cc2014 and before.
We create and distribute the .zxp files. How are packaging your hybrid? (we use ZXPSignCmd) And what does your MXI file look like?

I thought from your first post that you had it working on Mac with CC 2015. For us the install fails for any CC version if CC 2015 is installed.
Our mxi is basically the same as yours for the CC versions, except that we set the minVersion to be 17, so it installs in the original CC version too. We package the hybrid using our own scripts.
I am fairly sure we are not doing anything wrong and the problem is with CC 2015, especially as it breaks the install for the other CC versions. Unfortunately this will probably be quite a low priority for Adobe to fix, given all the other problems with CC 2105. The fact they have there own "App Store" (adobe exchange) might encourage them to fix it.

This issue seems to be fixed by the 19.0.1 release of CC 2015. I updated CC 2015 on my Windows machine and now the CC Extension Manager installs plugins correctly into all versions of CC. On Mac, I updated CC 2015 and then when I opened the CC Extension Manager, it didn't show any products in the left hand pane (just Others)! I eventually managed to get it show CC 2015 (but not the two older versions of CC that I still have installed) and could install plugins correctly to CC 2015.

I got the same issue aswell on mac with the last release of illustrator (19.2.0).
Very annoying!

Yes, it looks like Adobe have broken hybrid extension installation again with 19.2. Using the command line tools, it installs the flash part but not the aip.
It is beginning to look like Adobe is doing this on purpose. What have they got against plugin developers?
