Hello,

I am getting a bunch of rectangle boxes with adobe illustrator with both my pdf and eps files. I previously was not getting all of these little rectangles and they are making me crazy. Nothing has changed with what I am doing. I have restarted my computer, restarted adobe, and have updated both my computer and adobe.

Here is an example:

Here is what I want:

Any advice?

There probably has been a change in how Matlab creates these PDFs.

It's quite normal that Illustrator creates a gazillion of clipping masks when importing PDFs.

Can you upload one of these PDFs somewhere, so one can have a try with them? Dropbox or the like?

Figured it out! Sorry for the delay -- it was how matlab created the pdfs -- when you force the resolution it makes it so it reads into adobe incorrectly. thanks a ton!

Did you check "Illustrator Compatible" when saving the PDF or EPS files?

Can you share image of your Layer panel content? It might help troubleshooting.

hello!

I am using matlab -- it should be illustrator compatible, I've never had this problem before.

Here are some screenshots of the layer panel.

Hello Nin5FAA,

Sorry to hear about this experience. Would you mind sharing a download link to the file by following the steps shared in this article (https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator-discussions/share-your-files-in-6-simple-steps/td-p/12967...) so we can investigate this further on our end?

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Anubhav
