I can't get the "Image Trace" to convert an Image to Vector?

It don't work?

And it should be "embed" in the button, - but it says "unembed" why (you see in the video)

After selecting "Black & White" please open Window > Image Trace

In the Image Trace panel, check out the Threshold slider and move it to the right and left to find the sweet spot. Make sure to turnon the Preview.

sorry it don't work.

when I select "Black & White", the image I have is becoming transparent (and everything is gone, - as I told in the video). - and of course , then the Image Trace don't work, as it is not in this image??  of course it is turnon the Preview.

So what is wrong??

As you saw in the video the buttom "embed" is showing up as: "unembed" ? why?

A little more information would be helpful. What OS and version are you using? What version of AI? What file type is the image? How do you get the image into AI? Please give us more.

Mac OS Mojave, version 10.14.5

And I work in the latest Illustrator 23.11

This is a jpg, which I have placed in the Illustrator.

I have done this 100 times before without problem. But now I have problems??

It looks like you're in outline mode.

When Embed is becoming Unembed then it means that the image is already embedded. It doesn't matter for Image Trace.

Sorry @Monika_Gause it happens for every images I put on Illustrator now? jpg or png and so on...

Just how do you place your images?

Go File > Place and turn on "Link image"

Version 23 is not "the latest".

I quit Ilustrator, and started again. And now it works?

My computer has not been shout down the last week.

So I don't if that was the problem?

I have been working with AI 20 years. So I know everything about this. But I had to ask today, as it didn't work.
