Hello friends, I'm having a problem with Adobe Illustrator, I can't use the brush tool. I'm trying to use to make an tracing over one image, but when aplying on layer I have the "prohibited" synbol on cursor and can't draw.

Is someone knows the solution or is having the same problem?

Yes, I mean the layer opacity

I go to the right menu in Transparency and then in opacity

In order to change the opacity of the layer, you have to target the layer.

Did you open a pixel image (a JPG or PNG)?

There are no brushes in it. If you want to draw with the brush tool you need brushes.

It's best to create a new file and then place the pixel image in it. Then you have default brushes.

    Hello Monika, thx for answering

It worked! Now I can use the brush tool, but got another problem, I can't change the opacity of the layer with the image, I've already checked if it's not blocked or unlocked

Which opacity do you want to change? The image?

Yes, I mean the layer opacity

I go to the right menu in Transparency and then in opacity

Is the Layer active and unlocked?
