I cannot locate the pathfinder tools

I need to use effects from the pathfinder toolbar; such as unite, divide, ect. but I cannot locate Pathfinder on my workspace.

Right now I'm trying to unite a bunch of objects into one shape, but I cant do that on the effects bar

Try going to the Window dropdown in the application bar that starts with Illustrator and from the dropdown make sure that Pathfinder is checked. If that doesn't work try resetting the Window>Workspace to Essentials.

Or Effect>Pathfinder (Effect in the top bar)?

it has the effects, but is it the same as the toolbar? they dont have the same names as the actions on the pathfinder toolbar. how can I get it back onto my workspace?
