Filemaker is DDE compliant...is AI? i'm not sure.
What are you trying to accomplish thru DDE?, there might be alternatives
[Edit] Illustrator does not support DDE

I'm trying to run a script.
Filemaker must tell to Illustrator to execute a jsxbn script.

Many different kind of operations on layers and texts.
Finaly export in svg with interactivity.
All those operations on every documents in a folder.
But this is not important.
Today I have to do this but tomorrow may be something else.
The Goal is to find a way to let Filemaker start the script of iullustrator, cause is filemaker that prepares and exports data used by the script

Hi Ivan, I don't know how to use FM, I don't have it either...so I ignore the scripting capabilities of it, there might be a way to run files, but it is not possible to access Illustrator thru DDE. However, a simple search showed that its DOM is exposed to VB for scripting...So VB can talk to both FM and Illustrator, and can tell Illustrator to run a jsx file after doing somenthing in FM, does it make sense?

Hi Carlos.
Yes it make sense, but in this case the problem is... Me 😞 I do not know VB.
I'm not used to work on Win..
So this is a good reason to learn VB.
thanks
Ivan
