Illustrator 2018 rounded corners

Am I taking crazy pills, or is there no way in Illustrator 2018 to control rounded corners? The only thing I can do is click on the circles and drag, but that is ridiculously inexact. I want to be able to type in a number.

I can't find it anywhere...

What has apparently happened is they've removed this entire bar from the "essentials" workspace. So you've either got to switch back to "Essentials Classic" or one of the other workspaces to get it back.

    click on "direct selection tool"

I've tried that and it will not show up.  It's driving me crazy! I'd rather click on the small round circles in the corner of the shape rather than having to go to Effect>Stylize>Round Corners. Oh well, if that's what will do the job, then so be it. Thanks!

If you want to use numeric values on single corners you can use the Transform palette (given that you are talking about live rectangle shapes).

If you are talking about about live shapes and other irregular polygons you can double click the circles with the Direct Selection tool in order to open a dialog that allows you do set your desired values.

    Where it's always been:

Effect > Stylize > Round Corners...

If it's not there, you need a preferences reset.

Or lay off those crazy pills.

I'm looking for that ^^^, not something buried in menus. It used to show up right at the top of the screen whenever you had a path with corners selected. You can type in whatever number you want in that center box and it automatically rounds all of the selected corners.
