Illustrator 2019 (23.0.0) BOMBS repeatedly

I am NOT complaining -- I'm only reporting ...

I installed the new AI 2019 just now, and in running it for only a few minutes, it has bombed 6-7 times. It also suddenly stopped previewing the art (darkish gray screen) with a dialog saying something like, "Can't Preview ... something-or-other," and then it crashed AGAIN.

It's OK, though, since I always keep the former version (22.1) for just such occurrences.  :+)  Welcome to the bleeding edge.  :+)

Mac Pro, MacOS "High Sierra" 10.13.6

6 cores

32 GB ram

1TB SSD, two 6 TB drives

We have a fix and is available in the pre-release build. Please visit https://adobe.ly/1o2SDsg and get the latest build for version 23.0.1

While the build is prerelease this build is still of production quality. Please feel free to use / recommend it for your day to day activity.

Warm Regards,

just adding my voice to this thread. new cc 2019 illustrator crushes with "can't complete preview" error message. downgraded back to cc 2018 and the performance is back to normal.

I'm running latest build of win10 with 8 core AMD chip, 64GB of RAM and 8GB of video RAM so "not enough memory" seem unlikely.

I hate to pile on, but I'm having the same issue on Windows 10. Updated to CC 2019 today and so far Illustrator has crashed 5 times on me, each time with the "Cannot finish preview" error. I've submitted crash reports each time. Unfortunately, I have to work to get done so I'm rolling back to the last version.

Illustrator 2019 was a failure.

I have un-installed using Cloud manager and re-installed 2018.

What a wait of time. This simply should not happen.
I'm not paying for this to be used as a test case. I have work to do.

I have yet to notice any crashes.

I am running Windows 10 on a Wacom MobileStudio Pro.

I was resizing and creating some quick graphics to put up on Redbubble.

Let me try with my graphics that have 100s of layers and then I will get back to you.

Lately I am working on a rather large project taking jpgs and tracing them into AI formatted files.  After using AI for awhile, I start getting the crash syndrome.

I am using am iMAC Pro 10 core.  This occurred on my MACBook Pro as well though.

2018 crates the same way but not as quickly.

2019 is unusable after a period of time.

If I leave either open long enough - use AI long enough, it will start crashing.

If I leave 2019 open long enough it will even crash the whole OS cause a restart.  I wasn't watching my computer when this happened the last time so I don't have an error message.

This really looks like a memory leak and/or AI not releasing resources when done with them.

I have, like MANY others gone back to the 2018 previous release because it "crashes less".

This bug has been in AI long enough and it's time to fix it.  Yes, I am complaining some because I think especially AI 2019 with all the issues reported, feels like a customer wide Beta test.

We need to get our work done and this is really annoying.

Same. This is a major headache.

I have the same problem. Illustrator has been very good for years but this version is anything but stable. It crashes constantly and the cant preview error pops up after 20 minutes of work on a pretty simple document. I am working on a new macbook pro 2018 with 32GB memory.

Me too. Damn, why does Adobe seem to always inorporate "crash" as a new feature with these great function upgrades?.

AI display gets random black areas before locking up. Thankfully I've been able to save my work before it quits, but please fix it, tell me how to fix it or tell me to get a $10K video card. I don't care which. I just need software that I pay dearly for to WORK.

How 'bout this Adobe: Continue to give us all these nice new freatures but, let us turn them on and off to control performance????

Having the same issue: "not enough memory..." message and then crashes. I have 64 gb of ram on a new iMac with quad cores.

Having the same issue. Freezing, crashing, and can't preview. I tried rebuilding the preferences but that didn't help. Seems like the only option is to go back to 2018.
