Illustrator 2019 Instant Crash

This actually relates to Photoshop and Indesign too.

Updated all 3 to 2019, and all 3 can't event launch. Instant crash without an error. If I try open a file using one of them, they crash too.

Running latest Mojave on MBP 13" 2018

Obviously I've reverted to the previous build of all apps but it's unbelievable that CC just tanks on the latest hardware available.

Hi Nicholas,

Sorry to hear about this. If all the applications are not working, it could be related to the permissions on your user account. Please go to the Root account and check if the applications are working there or not: How to enable the root user on your Mac or change your root password - Apple Support

Hi Srishti,

Here are the info you need:

iMac (Retina 5K, Late 2014 with macOS Mojave Version 10.14.1)

Adobe Illustrator CC 2019 23.0.1

Illustrator crashes on launch and sometimes while working

It crashes with any file I try to open. All the files are located in Desktop subfolders.

Thanks a lot for your response

./Fotis

Hi Fotis,

Sorry about the delay. I am hopeful that the issue was fixed. If not, I would request if you can try resetting preferences for Illustrator: How to set preferences in Illustrator

Please note: Resetting preferences will remove all the custom settings and Illustrator will launch with default settings. You can also take a backup of the folder in case you want to. Location is mentioned in the article.

If that does not help please try the manual method:

Close all Adobe applications.

Go to locations

~/Library/Caches

~/Library/Application Support/Adobe

~/Library/Preferences

Rename  Adobe Illustrator, com.adobe.illustrator and Adobe Illustrator 23 Settings folders.

Launch Illustrator from the Creative Cloud.

Regards,

Srishti
