Illustrator 2022 crashing/ Not Responding/ while closing/ exiting on Windows machine

This wasnt happening on the previous version. This only began the minute I updated. I've reset the prefernces and still nothing. I'm on the latest build for Windows 10 Pro, 21H1, OS build 19043.1348, Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3920.0

Dont even need to have opened a file. Open the app, close the app it freezes.

 

Only way to close it is Ending the Process through task manager.

We are sorry about the trouble. I would request you to update to v26.0.2. We have tried to address this issue in this release. If you don't see this update, you may manually check for updates in the Creative Cloud desktop app. Let us know how it goes.

Everytime I try to close the program it gets stuck and I have to go to the task manager and shut down.  Please help!

Sorry about the trouble. I would request you to share a few more details like:

  • OS and the exact version of Illustrator
  • Are there any recent changes made to your system? For example, any antivirus, system updates, plugins, or web extensions installed recently.
  • Does resetting Illustrator Preferences ( https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/setting-preferences.html) help to resolve the issue?
    Disclaimer: Please note that resetting preferences will remove all the custom settings, and Illustrator will launch with default settings. You can also take a backup of the folders in case you want to. Location is mentioned in the article.

 

Also, you may try running the app in the Hidden Admin account (MacWindows) and see if you are able to close Illustrator without this error.

Unfortunatly no technician's call for the moment.
Thank you for the link. It seems that the interface is a bit different than in the video, but it looks like there are no informations shared. I tried each menu and page and didn't saw other Privacy settings.

Just a detail, I'm the administrator of a Business team account, thanks to my account I can get in licence attributions. (I don't know if this helps)
In our company, I'm the only one who has this issue with this update. So it doesn't seem to be a proxy or other network pb.

After upgrading to Adobe Illustrator 22 every time I try to close an application, it does not respond or close. I can only close it through Task Manager. Also, it does not save recently opened files because of this.

How do I fix it?

Hi,

have you tried uninstalling and installing Adobe Illustrator again? Have you also encountered a similar problem with other software in the Adobe suite?

The app is crashing for everything. Two days ago it was because i was just exporting files and now, it crash when i close. What`s going on with this last updated?

Sorry about the crashing! I know that's really frustrating. I would request you to share a few more details like:

  • Confirm Operating System & the exact version of Illustrator 2022. Is it v26.0 or 26.0.1?
  • Does it seem to crash at random, at launch, or after performing a particular action?
  • Does it crash while working on a specific document? If yes, could you please package the document and share it with us? You can upload it to the Creative Cloud (https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/share.html) and share the download link here or via DM.
  • Where are you saving the documents and links (Network Drive/ System HDD/ Shared Folder on System/ External HDD)?
  • Submit the crash report by following the steps suggested here (https://helpx.adobe.com/in/illustrator/kb/crash-next-steps.html).
    While submitting the crash report, please use the same email address with which you are signed in on this community. This will help us find the crash report and help accordingly.

Hey Anshul! Sorry for responding this so late. 
It keeps on crashing everytime i close adobe illustrator.
My operating system is windows 11 and the version of AI is 26.01.
I´m saving eveything in a external HDD.

Hope we can fix this.

After 2 Nightmare days I have dumped version 26, absolutely nothing works properly, cant even exit the program, I have reverted to version 25, why are we paying a huge subscription for something that does not work!!

Way too many issues to get in to! Can't even quit the program when I do get it to open, I have deleted prefs etc.

nothing works,

Have reverted back to version 25 which works perfectly I use illustrator every single day so I cant spend any more time

on a version that simply doesn't work ( for me) I'm on windows 10
