yes this is crazy! i even have to reformat my mac becasue it keep crashing! i rather using older version macos to use Ai2020, but you can't! because there's NO AI old version for you to download anymore!

i think only way is to sell your mac and get a better one. (apple strategy??)

I am getting this error message:

Localized resources files could not be loaded. Please reinstall this application to solve the problem.

when I try to launch Illustrator 26.1.0 on a 2021 M1 Macbook Pro running Monterey 12.1. This happens every time I try to launch the application. I am runnning into a similar problem when I try to launch Photoshop.

Thanks!

Illustrator is running so slow after installing the new Mac Monterey OS that I've had to move my work over to a PC to get a job out.  I am very angry that both Adobe and Apple sends out software half baked to people who need this stuff to work in order to make a living.

Same here. It's painfully slow and sluggish. Both Adobe and Apple are the twins of bloat. I'm sorry I updated the OS.

Hi @Justin225241979l0f & @Parks SSC,

I am sorry to hear about your experiences. I can understand your frustration. This is not the experience we want you to have. Could you please elaborate on your issue? Are you getting a spinning beach ball? Is it lagging/ hanging? Also, I would request you to share a few more details so I can have a better understanding of it:

  • Does it slow down while using a feature or tool in the app?
  • Does this happen while working on a specific document?
  • Does this happen with both new & old documents?
  • Where are your documents & links are saved (Network Drive/ System HDD/ Shared Folder on System/ External HDD)?
  • Screenshot of “About This Mac” (both Overview and Displays tab).
  • Are you using an external monitor(s)? If yes, with which port and cable combination it is connected.
  • What is the screen resolution of the external monitor(s)?
  • Are there any recent changes made to your system? For example, any antivirus, system updates, plugins, or web extensions installed recently.

We are here to help. We just need more information.

Thanks & Regards,

Anshul Saini

I am also having a Monterey M1 Max issue. Very complex Illustrator document crashes and will not open, but will on my MacPro running AI 25.2.1 and Catalina. So far, only this file.

More info: The file that crashes has 17 versions of my new company logo withg gradations, meshes, transparency, etc. If I copy and paste just one into a new Illustrator doc and open it on the M1 Max, it opens just fine, in fact about twice as fast. But moving around, etc., not seeing that speed boostI was hoping for. Not sure if that's Illustrator or Monterey or the M1 Max, but other software and the operating system are definitely faster on the M1 Max than the MacPro (both are maxed out on options, 64GB RAM, etc.), so I am guessing there will be optimnized versions to come that will run faster.

Hi there,

Sorry about the crashing! I know that's really frustrating. I would request you to share a few more details like:

  • Confirm the exact version of Illustrator 2022. Is it v26.0 or 26.0.1?
  • Does it seem to crash at random, at launch, or after performing a particular action?
  • Does it crash while working on a specific document? If yes, could you please package the document and share it with us? You can upload it to the Creative Cloud (https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/share.html) and share the download link here or via DM.
  • Where are you saving the documents and links (Network Drive/ System HDD/ Shared Folder on System/ External HDD)?
  • Submit the crash report by following the steps suggested here (https://helpx.adobe.com/in/illustrator/kb/crash-next-steps.html).
While submitting the crash report, please use the same email address with which you are signed in on this community. This will help us find the crash report and help accordingly.

I have the same problem. It is not file specific. It was crashing when I tride to access the Properties, layers or Library panel. In fact these would not appear. I reinstalled and now the layers and properties panels appear and appear to work, however as soon as I click on the Library panel it freezes.
