After a recent scan of my Windows 11 PC, my antivirus (Avast) indicated the following as malware:
C:users\john\AppData\Roaming\Adobe Illustrator 28 Settings\en_US\x64\New Document Profiles\web.ai
C:program Files\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator 2024\Support Files\Required\New Document Profiles\en_US\web.ai
Can anyone confirm if this is malware or a false positive?
Thanks!

unfortunately, I can't tell you whether your new document templates are infected or not.
But please read the parallel thread on the same topic. Maybe that will help you a little.

Likely a false positive, but if you are concerned, Avast has the ability for you to send a file to them for analysis, and if they determine the file is indeed a false postive, they will adjust their definitions accordingly.

Hello @johnh11251311,
Thanks for reaching out. As suggested by pixxxelschubser and Brad, this is most likely a false detection, but if you have doubts, you can uninstall Illustrator completely and clear these files. Once done, reinstall it from the Creative Cloud.
Feel free to reach out if you have more questions or need assistance. We'd be happy to help.
Thanks,
Anubhav
