Question

Illustrator 2024 on macOS Sonoma using up a lot of memory on launch

I'm using an Mac M1 Macbook Pro, previously using Sonoma, now upadated to Sequoia in the hope it would resolve the issue that Illustrator is eating up application memory. AS you can see from the screenshot, with no files currently open, it's using over 30gb which is causing it to slow down or crash. Anyone else having this issue or know how to resolve it? It's giving me a massive headache. Thanks!

Never seen that on my Macbook M1.

But also I'm not running Sonoma (for a reason).

Do you have any Window manager running?

Hello @Gino24404848lil0,

I am sorry to hear about your experience. Would you mind sharing a few more details, like the exact version of the OS/Illustrator, if Illustrator behaves this way all the time, and if you have any plugins enabled, so we can better assist you?

Also, try resetting Illustrator's preferences as described in this article (https://adobe.ly/480i3xP) and sharing your observations.

Disclaimer: Please note that renaming preferences folders will remove all the custom settings, and Illustrator will launch with default settings. You can also save a backup of the folders in case you want to. The location is mentioned above.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks. I've tried those suggestions in the link and it didn't work unfortunately. I'm using Mac OS 15.0.1 and Illustrator 28.7.1. I'm not using any additional plugins.
