New Here ,
Aug 15, 2025 Aug 15, 2025

Having issues saving Illustrator files ever since I upgraded to Mac OS 15.6. I select save or use key command but it doesn't save. I have to use Save As. Any fixes for this issue?

Hello @bmeppster,

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Could you confirm the exact version of Illustrator installed and whether this happens with specific files or files stored in a particular folder location, so I can better assist you?

Also, try enabling Full Disk Access for Illustrator by following the similar steps for Lightroom shared here (https://adobe.ly/3UvwLH3) and let us know if it helps.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hello,
Version is 29.7.1.
I enabled Full Disk Access so I'll see if that works.
Thanks,

Brenda

That didn't work.
It's random as to whether it's going to save or not. It started happening right after I did the latest OS update. It's doing this with different Illustrator files, not just one. Luckily I'm able to use the Save As function.
I have my client files in a folder in my main harddrive (2024 Mac Mini Pro)

Hello @bmeppster,

Thanks for confirming. Could you check if the folder location where these files are stored is synced in any way using another application like iCloud Drive/Dropbox/Google Drive/etc? If yes, try moving them to a local directory and share your observations.

If the problem persists, try running Illustrator after rebooting your computer in Safe Mode (macOS) and under a different administrator account (macOS), and let us know if it helps.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
