Illustrator 2026 Cannot Be Installed On Windows Server 2022

Hello,

I use Windows Server 2022 as my main machine, it is updated to the latest version of 11/10/2025.

I have never had an issue installing or updating Illustrator before, but when v30 (Illustrator 2026) launched, it is failing to install due to: the error log below. I assume it is due to Server 2022 technically being based on 21H2, and the validation doesn't account for server OS.

Exit Code: 190
-------------------------------------- Summary --------------------------------------
 - 2 fatal error(s), 0 error(s), 7 warnings(s)

FATAL: Sanity check for installation failed. Current OS version 10.0.20348 doesn't satisfy OS requirements.
FATAL: Error occurred in install product workflow with error code 190 error message

Has anyone else seen this, or have any advice moving forward? My workflow demands incredibly high resources that only a server can provide, and I do not have a license for Server 2025 yet.

I have literally the same issue. I'm stuck and can't get it updated to V30.0

Can we be sure that it would be solved by updating the Windows Server to 2025 version?

@quality_8728 the Exit Code 190, which indicates a failure to meet minimum system requirements (which in your case is the OS version —Windows Server 2022 as my main machine, it is updated to the latest version of 11/10/2025.)

Yeah I got that from the error...

Server 2022 is nowhere close to EOL, I'm asking to give it a second look at compatbility. Windows Server is "special" in the way it is validated via OS Version.
