Illustrator 28.5 upgrade on OS X 14.5 hangs on FIle> New

I just upgraded Illistrator on Mac OSX Sanoma to V 14.5.

Illustrator now hangs when trying to create a new Illustrator document; Force Quit is the only way to end the session.

The Windows version of Illustrator 28.5 works correctly on Windows 11.

Are others experiencing this (or is it local to my machine)?

/John

Someone else reported some Sonoma 14.5 issue today. But that's the only experience with that system in this forum.

Do you have a printer set up as the default printer and turned on?

Thanks for the idea, @Monika Gause . Yes, the printer is up and running. Indeed, I can open and work on existing document...

BTW - my work around is to copy an existing .ai file, open it, delete what was there, and then define the artboards, etc., for a new document. Anoying to say the least, but better than being stalled.

When creating new documents Illustrator needs to read new document profiles.

Does Illustrator have full disk access?

Great idea, thank you! I added illustrator to the Full Disk Access list in the system setting, but no joy.

Curiouys that Illistrator didn't require this before... I assumed the update caused the issue, do you think this is just a coincidence? Thanks again.

This was required all the time, but it can go wrong or be forgotten and after an update you might need it renewed

Hello @John374673148uqc,

We understand that encountering technical issues can be frustrating. Would you mind trying to run Illustrator under a different administrator account (Windows / macOS) and checking if it helps?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Anubhav
