Question

Illustrator 30.0 seems good so far except...

I've got two versions installed just in case, but so far I'm impressed with 30.0! There was one thing that immediately jumped out at me, and is driving me insane- the grid has changed. I have a template for all my pages with a grid layout. I've looked at this template for a decade now and I instantly noticed that the grid lines are thicker and not as crisp looking. I hate it. The grid feels so heavy now and it distracts from the artwork. Please fix whatever was changed or give us options to adjust the thickness of the grid lines.

Other than that, nice job!

Hi @B_C_E_75,

Thanks for sharing your observations. I tested this on my end and found the grid lines in both versions to appear visually similar. Could you please share a screenshot from Illustrator 29.8.2 and another from 30.0 showing the difference you're seeing?

Looking forward to your update.

Abhishek

I'm using  29.6.1 as I found it to be the most stable of the recent releases. I know it seems nitpicky, but I really can't stand it when things change just for the sake of change. The difference isn't huge, but it's enough for me. I included a screen capture of each version with the artboard filling the screen, as well as one each of the screen zoomed in at about 400%, which is where I spend a lot of time doing callouts for parts. I am using CADtools plugin on both versions and have never had a problem with it in all the years I've used it. I haven't found any settings in the plug in that affect the grid either. I've been using this new Illustrator all day and so far everything else is great. This new version saves super fast and feels snappy. The new font management is awesome too!

Thanks!
