Illustrator Actions Not Recording

Illustrator 30.0

Windows 11 Version 10.0.26200 Build 26200

I have seen a few postings on Actions not working in Illustrator. However, no confirmation on how to resolve.

Actions are working in Illustrator Beta version and not in Ai?

Fails to record

Possible remedy is to Uninstall and re-install Ai. Not sure this will work since I had to do this the other day when I kept getting the Discover screen.

Abhishek: Appreciate the quick response. I was able to fix the problem. It may have been user error. I was attempting to record actions with the Pen tool. In retrospect I should have used the same steps when replicating the concern. Instead I set Actions in Beta to drawing a box and it worked. This led me to believe the Actions in Ai recording were not working. However, I confirmed I could also draw a Box and record the steps in both apps. 

Is this correct to assume Actions does not record using the Pen tool?

Then I discovered another problem in Beta. I will create a new message on this.

Thanks for reaching out and sharing the details. I tested this on my end with Illustrator 30.0 on Windows 11, and Actions are recording correctly. Could you please share a short screen recording showing your complete workflow when trying to record an Action? 

Also, please confirm if the issue occurs even with a new blank document and a newly created action set. In the meantime, try manually resetting Illustrator preferences once and test again to see if it helps: https://adobe.ly/48S2jPO
