Question

Illustrator always throws profile mismatch dialog

I have a CMYK photo I have saved in Photoshop.

I have a CMYK Illustrator file.

My colour settings are syncronised.

When I place my CMYK photo into my CMYK Illustrator file it always comes up with "The document has an embedded color profile that does not match the current RGB working space".

Both files are CMYK

Why is it doing this?

Did you have time to share the example file?

CC file sharing, Dropbox, Google, WeTransfer...

Can't repeat it now. Will do if it happens again

It must have been something else, RGB symbols in a CMYK document cannot exist together without being converted to the document color.

If you CAN'T share an example... are you by any chance saving your photo as PNG? Or saving it with "Export" in Photoshop?

There was a small symbol in the AI file that was RGB. The confusion was that it would throw the error when I added the CMYK PSD file. Even though the AI file was the right profile and the placed file was the right profile, there was nothing to indicate the problem was with another element on the page

I always believed that Illustrator files could only contain objects in one color mode, CMYK or RGB.

Can you share that CMYK document that contains that RGB symbol?

Is it one particular image in one particular document?

Did you try resaving in Photoshop, and things like restarting your machine, resetting Illustrator?

If it is one particular image, and one particular document, can you share these examples (you may want to remove content you don't want to share)?
