Illustrator and Silhouette Connect plug in

I am having an issue with opening illustrator after the installation of Silhouette connect. Every time i try to run Illustrator the application crashes. Now I have looked in the event viewer and it reports:

Faulting module path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator CS6\Plug-ins\scp_cs6\Silhouette Connect CS6.aip

If I remove the plug in from this folder Illustrator will launch every time and the plug in will work when I add it back to the folder.

Although this has solved the issue for me since the computer is used for multiple users it is still crashing for them on start up. Do you know of a solution to this issue?

Thanks in advance

Did you recently upgrade your OS, what version are you running?

What version of the plug in do you have? You can download V1.3.039 here. That upgrade was for CC2017, but you may have better success with that.

Since you are running CS6,  an older version of the plug in may work better. CS6 & Win 7 go good together, so don't upgrade your OS, unless you can upgrade Illustrator also.

Call Silhouette tech support and request  an older version of the plug in.
