It's a little difficult to explain this properly, but whenever I try to move the Illustrator program window to another part of my screen, it instantly moves behind every other program window I have open. Even if I just move it a teeny tiny bit...boom... now it's behind all the programs I have open. It is very annoying and I can't find a solution anywhere. I dropped in "before and after" screenshots if they help at all. You can see the "Pathfinder" toolbar is still in front of the Chrome window so it's definitely a weird glitch. The issue doesn't happen with any other Adobe program either. I have updated to the latest vesion of AI a few times and still no luck. I have a 2021 Macbook Pro. Anyone have a solution? Thank you.
I have had the same issue for weeks. In an attempt to solve it, I asked the internets and it led me here. Very frustrating stuff, as people have stated. I too tried some of the solutions here and nothing stuck. BUT... and I am crossing my fingers here, I switched workspaces to "layout" and so far everything is back in order. Been a couple hours now. Perhaps try this one... if it reverts back to our hated glitch I will report back.

I am having the same problem with Photoshop. Driving me crazy. Adobe products are becoming more and more buggy.

I am also having problems with Photoshop, and sometimes InDesign, going behind all open windows.

Hi Anshul,
I tried with Adobe Illustrator 2024 (Beta) 28.1 87 and seems the problem is resolved for me. Will I now have to use the beta to work and eliminate the other standard one?

Hello Anshul, just tested it and… it works. Back to normality 😉

Thank you for sharing your experience, @FH Addict @Jamie ReadsDirect. I'm glad to hear that the issue has been resolved for you with the Adobe Illustrator 2024 (Beta) 28.1 87. Generally, when a fix is implemented in the beta version, it does make its way into the next public release. So, you can expect the improvements to be available in the standard version once the next public update is rolled out. Feel free to continue using the beta version, and you should see the improvements soon. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you encounter any further issues or have more questions.
Best,
Anshul Saini

Hello Jamie, as Illustrator 28.0 is not replaced with the beta, didn't you - by mistake - opened the 28.0.
I did it by mistake and yes it was not working

Hi @FH Addict I'm using the leatest versions of both and the problem is there. But what is funny is that it doesn't happen just when I install Adobe Illustrator but after using it a few times.. when i start to swap and drag the windows after several times.

Strange! I am not working a lot with Illustrator so I can't test if in the long term it doesn't work anymore.
Did you boot your Mac to test if the Beta is working again? if yes, let's wait other users feedbacks 😉

I appreciate your update, @Jamie ReadsDirect. It's unfortunate that the issue resurfaced.
It is possible you are facing another issue related to the macOS Sonoma update that may cause similar problems. Could you please check this post (https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator-discussions/unable-to-use-toolbar-in-illustrator-after-so...) and see if it aligns with your experience? Your feedback is valuable, and it will help us identify and address the issue effectively. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

It also started to happen sporadically in photoshop to me. I seem to have sovled the problem in both by creating a new Workspace for both from a scratch.

Mine has been stable since I redid my workspace, I believe I used Essentials in Ai as my starting point. But the one thing I have noticed when I'm in photoshop and if pull a tab off, (see attachments) problem can SOMETIME reappear. I have two monitors so some of my windows are on a second screen.

It's still happening! With every single update, you fail to fix this relentless bug that stops designers in their tracks. What are you guys doing over there? It's been roughly 8 months since this was first reported in this community.

I am still dealing with this issue and have for quite some time. I just never "Googled" the right phrase to find a discussion on this topic until now.
My issue is when selecting Illustrator's application "frame", it does not select the application, selecting the document within the frame does, but you need to select the "frame" to move it around the desktop
I work on a 2019 MacBook Pro 2.3 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9 and M1 with the same OS Version 14.3.1 (23D60) using a Wacom tablet.
I've been experiencing multiple embarrassing issues with Adobe products as of late when sharing my screen during a production meetings and all of my other open windows keep poping up in front the a document I'm working on every time I touch/move the application on my desktop.

Recent updates to the OS and Illustrator did NOT fix this issue.
Mac OS Sonoma Version 14.4.1 (23E224) which also did "something" to the Wacom center.
Illustrator 28.4.1
