After I updated to 27.9 or above, or latest BETAs, Illustrator remains stuck in this blank screen before Welcome screen:
I tried everything you can imagine, but remains the same. With 27.0 version everything works fine. I am using MacOS 13.5.1 (Ventura)
Anyone that could help solve this? Thanks

Hi @multireflex,
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing a blank screen issue in Illustrator on macOS. This can be frustrating, but there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the problem. Here are some suggestions:
-
Update Illustrator: First, please ensure you are using the latest version of Illustrator, currently version 28.0. Updating to the latest version can often resolve software issues.
-
Reset Preferences: Sometimes, issues like this can be due to corrupted preferences. You can try resetting Illustrator preferences by pressing and holding
Cmd
+Option
+Shift
immediately after launching Illustrator. You should see a dialog box asking if you want to reset your preferences. -
Renaming the UXP Folder: If resetting preferences doesn't work, another option is to rename the UXP folder. This folder may contain extensions and plugins that can sometimes interfere with normal operation. To do this:
- Close Illustrator.
- Navigate to the following location:
- /Library/Application Support/Adobe
- ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe
- Rename the "UXP" folder to something else, like "UXP.old."
- Restart Illustrator and check if the issue is resolved.
If these steps don't resolve the problem, please provide more details about your system, including the operating system you're using and any recent changes or updates you've made to your computer. This information can help further diagnose and address the issue.
We're here to assist you in getting Illustrator working as it should, so please don't hesitate to reach out with any more details or questions you may have.
Best regards,
Anshul Saini

Hi Anshul,
I tried absolutely everything in your list (most of it I already tried before). Even renaming the UXP folder, and it didn't work, the issue remains the same.
My situation:
MacBook Pro 8 GB RAM, MacOS 13.5.1
Rest of CC Apps work fine, even the latest Photoshop Beta. It only happens with Illustrator. I have another computer (an older iMac) and Illustrator 27.9 works fine (but cannot install the Beta because of OS).
I badly need to work with Illustrator, I am now totally stuck :

@multireflex I understand that this issue is affecting your workflow, and I appreciate your patience in trying various solutions. Based on the information you've provided, here are a few more steps to consider:
-
Update to Version 28.0: If you haven't already, try updating to Adobe Illustrator version 28.0. This is the latest stable release, and it may have addressed the issue you're facing.
-
Update macOS: Ensure your macOS is also up to date. Software conflicts can sometimes be resolved with system updates.
-
Create a New Admin Account: Sometimes, issues like this can be specific to user profiles or configurations. Create a new admin account on your Mac, then log in to that account and check if Illustrator opens without issues. It suggests the problem may be related to your user account settings if it does. If needed, you can then migrate your data and settings to this new account.
I understand the urgency of your situation and hope one of these steps will help get Illustrator running on your MacBook Pro. If you have any more information or updates, please feel free to share them.
Best regards,
Anshul Saini

Anything of this didn't work.
I won't be able then to go further with Illustrator than v 27.0 as I see there's no solution for me.
