Illustrator can't find plugin to open linked files

Hi! I'm having some trouble with opening linked files in my illustrator docs. Everytime I try to open one, the message "Illustrator can't find the plugin to read the linked file .... Choose replace to select other file or ignore to keep the file unchanged" appears (my translation, my software is in spanish). Does anyone know the reason? I already tried reinstalling AI and didn't work. I'm a iOS user and the computer's software is also up to date.
