Having this issue with only one file. The day before the file crashed, it was late after work so I didn't bother to reopen. This morning I came in and this happened when I tried to pened it. I went to creative cloud to update, I installed update Version 27.5. Then, went back to illsutrator to try to open the file again, but the same messega appeared.
It's an AI file, it has always been, and it only happened to this file, the other AI files are fine.
* I can see the preview
*When I click to opened it says " Illustrator could partially reas this file"
*When I click open it only shows me a PDF UNTITLED FILE telling me how to save the file to be compatible PDF for other applications.
All of the works is gone, it's not the end of the world, I can open other similar files just fine.
I have most of the sketches on that file saved in PDF so I can easily access them, but there is some that were not so this is uper frustrating, does anyone know what to do?
I have incuded images of everything that happens when I try to open the file. This happened out of nowhere, just a random crash and now my file is gone.

One of the Adobe people might be able to rescue it for you.
You could try opening with Acrobat, but you may not get more than the partial you've got.
Not that I think it would make any difference, but you don't want to change your set-up (update, reinstal) before you've tried everything in the set-up that caused the crash, you may illiminate data for the rescue.

A crash when saving a file is just the worst moment of all. You can almost be certain that the file is lost. That's why it's so important to make backup copies, so you can go back a version. You don't by any chance have Time Machine or similar installed on your computer?
Also: in Illustrator turn off "Save in background". It can cause issues as well.

Hello @defaultgfrwg8g392vx,
We understand that encountering technical issues can be frustrating. I hope the suggestions shared by Met1 and Monika helped resolve the problem. If not, kindly share the file here (https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator-discussions/share-your-files-in-6-simple-steps/td-p/12967...) so we can check it on our end.
Although we cannot guarantee a successful recovery, we will try our best to do so.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thanks,
Anubhav
