Today, I installed Illustrator CC 2017, and then tried to update my Astute Graphics filters. However, now, none of the Astute Graphics filters show up in Illustrator 2017. What could be the problem? I tried to post this question on the Astute Graphics website, but their Contact page did not work when I tried to send the message to them.
Updated
(Correction: They now have a CC 2017 Release Candidate you can download and use. They say it hasn't been as tested as normal, and isn't the official release, but it should get you back up on your feet and running, though potentially with some errors. Visit Important Update - CC 2017 to find the download link)
Astute Graphics hasn't updated the Unified Installer, or the plugins, to work with Illustrator CC 2017 as of yet. See their blog post (Important Update - CC 2017 ) and this tweet

No,
It may be worth trying the Astute side again to hear whether everything is compatible or something needs to be done.
I believe Kris has used (at least certain) Astute things with CC 2017 without any issues, so I have just asked him to have a look here.

Astute Graphics hasn't updated the Unified Installer, or the plugins, to work with Illustrator CC 2017 as of yet. See their blog post (Important Update - CC 2017 ) and this tweet exchange from this morning:
As Jacob mentioned above, it might be possible to manually copy the plugins from the existing folder for CC2015.3 (C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator CC 2015.3\Plug-ins\) to the 2017 Folder (C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator CC 2017\Plug-ins), but there's always the possibility that things a) won't work as expected, or b) won't work at all, or c) will break/corrupt your files. I'd have to imagine that if all the plugins worked as expected, AstuteGraphics would have already released the new installer, as the release candidate and SDK have been available for a few weeks already.
Hang tight, my friend - it'll be here when it's here. 🙂

I am glad to know that it is just the Unified Installer that Astute Graphics needs to update rather than some critical problem. I will wait until the installer has been tested and finalized before I reinstall the plug-ins. I am in no hurry.
Thanks for your help,
John Johnson

Sure thing.
The way their installer works, it copies the plugin files into the correct plugins folder for your AI installation(s) - Illustrator doesn't share plugins across versions, to prevent compatibility issues.
You'll have to re-download and use the updated unified installer to have your plugins appear in 2017.
FWIW, I installed the plugins last night, and have been using them most of the day, without any issue.
If you do need the plugins, and let the Creative Cloud installer remove your 2015.3 installation, you can re-install it through the Creative Cloud App - On the Apps tab, scroll down to "FIND ADDITIONAL APPS", click the "All Apps" menu at right, and choose "View Previous Versions". Then, scroll down to Illustrator, choose "Install", and pick from all (10) versions, back to CS6. Then, you can download the Unified Installer release from your AstuteGraphics account page, and have it re-install for whatever version you downloaded.

The updated Unified Installer is out now, by the way, Resume all previous undertakings, cause now you can!
(that's a screenshot, not an actual button, sorry.)

It does not matter anymore. I have cancelled my Adobe CC software plan and am going back to my CS6 versions that I have on disc. I will install the Astute Graphics filters there. What a nightmare this has been with the Adobe CC programs.

I installed all my CS 6 software and all the filters work fine, and they boot in 5 seconds. I will never go back to CC. It is just too complicated.
