There is a strange issue present in my installation of Illustrator CC 2017. An error box keeps popping up whenever I open existing Illustrator .AI files.
I don't know what is causing this error message. I'm still able to work on the art files. But whenever I change tabs to another layout the dialog box pops up again. The strange thing is it doesn't pop up on every file. But I can't figure out what the difference might be in files that don't display the error message. I do use some larger size art boards, but nothing that really pushes the 227" X 227" maximum. This error is happening on a PC running Windows 10 Pro with all the latest updates.
I am sorry to hear that you have been facing issues with Illustrator CC 2017.

Same issue here too. It's seriously negatively affecting my ability to use Illustrator at all and it just started when I upgraded to 2017.

I am having the exact same issue. The error message also pops up when I start Illustrator 2017. I did try opening Illustrator in administrator mode, and the problem went away— but then I was not able to open any files by clicking on them in Windows Explorer. The only way I could open a file was by going through Illustrator's File>Open menu. I even tried right-clicking and selecting Open With>Illustrator 2017 without luck. And .AI files are set to open with Illustrator 2017.
Update: I have noticed that this problem also occurs when running Illustrator in administrator mode.

This drove me crazy, For the first time ever, I regressed to an earlier version of an Adobe App.
See: Install a previous version of any Creative Cloud application
Illustrator 2015.3 - error is gone.

Yeah, the error box is really pretty annoying. I'm also pretty annoyed at how much longer it takes for Illustrator CC 2017 to launch. I have to go on to other things, like checking my email or getting a soft drink, while Illustrator loads.
But I suppose things could be worse. CorelDRAW X8 has been a pretty excruciating upgrade. Its "font playground" and some other bells and whistles have bogged down the problem badly. I often have to jump back to version X6 to be productive which sort of defeats the purpose of upgrading in the first place.

Every time I try to go to that link, I arrive at an 'Access Denied' page.

jcop99, this is a pre-release version of Illustrator. In case you haven't already signed up for the pre-release program, visit the "invitation to pre-release" link at the Illustrator forum's home page and follow its instructions. That should remove the denials for access.
As to whether this pre-release solves the error box problem shown at the top of this thread: SUCCESS!
No more annoying error boxes.
