Question

Illustrator CC 2017 forcing user to use "Align to pixel grid"

Is is true?! It's the most unbaked feature ever, aimed at Illustrator newbies.

Can't believe it's so... It's really destroying my workflow 😞

HELP!!!

Is there a way around it?

The two buttons are in the upper right of the Control panel. The second is a drop-down.

Well, with the "Align to pixel grid" on, off or disabled; Illustrator new rendering engine pushes the elements ever so slightly off the grid. The on option works nice on new files, but is really messing up my cc 2016 files :-(

See attached files

Do you guys notice it as well?

Text is a completely different thing. Try the options in the Character panel's menu.

As for the squares: are they grouped?

Can be turned off. You might want to read the documentation
