Illustrator CC 2017 leaking memory

Having a weird issue with Illustrator where it starts leaking memory the second I open it, has anyone else come across this or have any idea what the issue may be?

As soon as it opens, it uses ~1.5Gb memory, then slowly progresses eating up more memory without me even touching it, until eventually my mac tells me I've run out of application memory on my system

Specs:

Illustrator CC 2017 (21.1.0)

macOS sierra (10.12.4)

Yep, removing existing preferences seems to have done the trick for me as well.

If anyone else stumbles onto here with the same issue, the steps for removing your preferences (on a mac) are:

finder -> go -> go to folder

type in ~/library/

go to application support > adobe

rename or delete any folders that have "Illustrator" in the name

go back to ~/library/, go to preferences and do the same

Thank you so much! This solved my problem. Look at the difference pre and post preferences dump.

We are not aware of this problem hence need you help. Please email us on sharewithai@adobe.com our engineering team would love to get this issue debugged. Any third party plugins or extensions that you have with you?

I have no plugins or extensions installed, just vanilla Illustrator. I've sent off an email to the address you provided, thanks for the help.

I also have just vanilla illustrator. I had a screen share support session and the rep did a clean install of the CC app/preferences, which seems to have sorted out the problem.

Can you please update Sierra to 10.12.5 and check if it still happens.

I have this same problem. I've updated to the latest Illustrator and OSX, but it is still occurring.
