Illustrator CC 2025: Fonts werden automatisch ersetzt – Layouts zerstört

New Here ,
Sep 02, 2025 Sep 02, 2025

2.     Deaktivierte Adobe Fonts springen wieder an.

Hi @Nelson25545283cvpr,

Thanks for sharing such detailed feedback. I understand how disruptive this can be in a production setup. To get more clarity, could you confirm the OS and the exact Illustrator version you are using (for example, 29.6, 29.7, 29.7.1, 29.8, etc.) and let me know if the issue happens consistently across different files or only with certain fonts? It would also help to know whether the files are being placed from a local drive, network storage, or cloud location.

If you are not on the latest version, please update to 29.8 and check if that helps. In the meantime, try signing out and back into Creative Cloud, and clear your system font cache by following the steps in this guide: https://adobe.ly/3UYLoTx. If possible, please share a sample affected file and screenshots that show the difference before and after the fonts are replaced. You can also review this thread and confirm if you are experiencing a similar issue: Fonts changing in files when opened in Illustrator... - Adobe Product Community - 15359494

On the licensing part, you can install Adobe applications on more than one computer, activate them (sign in) on two, but use them on only one computer at a time. To activate apps on a third machine, you’ll need to deactivate (sign out) on one of the two current computers first. You can check your activated devices here: Activated devices

Looking forward to your update.

Abhishek

Thank you for your response.

Here are the details of our setup:

  • Operating System: macOS Ventura 13.7.7 (upgrading to a higher macOS is not possible on our hardware).

  • Illustrator Version: 29.8 (latest release).

  • The issue occurs consistently, not with specific files or fonts. It happens with both files stored locally on the Mac and files stored on our network server.

Regarding the fonts:
The behavior is reproducible: Illustrator automatically replaces fonts without warning, even when Adobe Fonts has been deactivated in Creative Cloud. This is not a cache issue but a built-in program logic. For professional print and packaging workflows, automatic font substitution without any user confirmation is unacceptable.

Regarding licensing / use on two computers:
In theory, Creative Cloud apps should be installable on two computers simultaneously, with one active at a time. In practice, this does not work for us: we are forced to fully deactivate/uninstall on one machine before we can use the other. This contradicts Adobe’s own description ("two activated devices, one active at a time") and makes flexible work between office and home setups unreasonably difficult.

We have been professional Adobe customers for over 15 years. However, it is becoming increasingly difficult to rely on Adobe software in a professional environment, as basic control mechanisms (such as clear missing font warnings) have been removed, and licensing restrictions are becoming tighter.

Please escalate these issues to the product team. We are not looking for temporary workarounds such as clearing caches or upgrading OS – we need reliable long-term solutions.

Best regards,
Daniela Lochschmidt Raggini

Hi @Timon24844487o27d,

Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback about your setup and experience. I completely understand how frustrating automatic font replacement and the licensing behavior you mentioned can be in a professional workflow.

In the meantime, were you able to check the community thread I shared earlier to see if the details there match what you're experiencing with fonts being replaced automatically? That would help confirm whether the issues are connected.

Regarding licensing, the apps are designed to allow activation on two devices, with use on one at a time. I'd like to understand more about the scenario where you're prompted to deactivate completely before switching devices. Could you share what happens when you try to sign in on the second device? If possible, a screenshot of your Activated Devices screen would be really helpful. Reference: Activated devices

Looking forward to your update.

Best,
Abhishek

Thank you for your follow-up.

To clarify once again:

  • Operating System: macOS Ventura 13.7.7 (cannot be upgraded on our hardware)

  • Illustrator Version: 29.8 (latest release)

  • Font cache is cleared regularly.

The issue remains fully reproducible: Illustrator replaces fonts automatically without any warning, even with Adobe Fonts deactivated. This happens across different files, both local and network.

As mentioned before, this is not a cache or OS issue – it is a matter of program logic. Automatic font substitution without user confirmation is unacceptable in professional print and packaging workflows.

At this point, I kindly ask that this case is escalated to the Illustrator product team. We are not looking for temporary workarounds, but for a reliable long-term solution.

Best regards,
Daniela Lochschmidt Raggini

Hello @Timon24844487o27d,

Our team has tried fixing this in the latest Illustrator (Beta). Would you mind installing it to see if it helps resolve the problem?

Looking forward to hearing from you.
