Question

Illustrator CC 23.0.3 stalls at smarteditUI.aip when opening help?

I have read the forums on this topic and have tried uninstall/install renaming preferences folders and tried to delete some Temp files within AppData and Illustrator still will not open. It gets lagged (stall) when the plugin "SmartEditUI.aip" trys to install. I run a full time business using this software and this is costing me money not being able to use the software.

The software was working fine 2 days ago. Not sure what happened...

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

This thread is 5 years ols. I suppose you are not using that old version.

If you are using a current version, this could be caused by other Adobe Beta apps. If you have any of them installed, uninstall them.

Thank you! That was it. Uninstalled AE beta and everything works.

    Hi there,

We are sorry to hear that you are getting this error while launching Illustrator. That's not a typical experience with Illustrator. I am hopeful that reinstalling with the cleaner tool has resolved the issue for you. If not, I would request if you can share a few more details like:

    • Operating System
    • Are there any recent changes made to your system? For example, any antivirus, system updates or web extensions installed recently.

    Looking forward to your response!

    Regards,

    Srishti

After you uninstalled did you run the Adobe Cleaner Tool?

Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems
