Illustrator CC crashes after 30 seconds on both Mac and Windows when editing file with multiple artboards

I am trying to edit a file with multiple artboards, created with Illustrator CC 2017.

I open the file, everything seems allright, and after 30 seconds of editing Illustrator hangs.

Please find attached the Illustrator CC file.

    News: AI doesn't hang, but keeps spinning for about 15 minutes before being responsive again. This happens when selecting an item on another artboard.

    It is relaxing every few clicks, selecting an item in an artboard, and drink a lovely cup of coffee waiting the spinning ball to stop, and the selection to complete.
