Illustrator CC2019 Compatibility with CorelDraw x4

I'm trying to save an AI file on my Mac (using IllustratorCC2019) as an EPS file to be compatible, imported and editable in CorelDrawX4 on a PC.  Corel will randomly import some of the eps but not all of them and I didn't do anything different with the EPS file when I saved it.  I've tried downsaving it to an earlier version such as Illustrator CS3 (which supposedly CorelDrawx4 will only import files up to this version or earlier versions.  Still no luck.  I've tried saving my AI file as a compatible PDF but that won't work either.  CorelDraw only gives me the option to IMPORT and not OPEN....not sure if that would make a difference or not either.  I've jacked with my settings and preferences so much now trying to get Corel to import the file that there's no telling what all I've messed up now.  Any help suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I have deadlines to meet with these files at my job! Thank you!

Something els, why does your boss need to edit the file in Corel?

Can he work with a pdf file if he only needs to send it to output?

He prints the file from CorelDrawX4 which I don't have on my computer.

He's old school and won't learn Illustrator. Lol....I'm a new employee and

have always used Illustrator so..... Anyway, he has to put it on the print

template and sometimes he has to make changes to the art if it has flaws

that I didn't catch.

The workflow won't make both of you happy in the long run.

Current CorelDraw versions can even open AI files (up to CS6)

What's in the file? Please list the kinds of objects.

If they are just simple paths, EPS3 should work best. Anything higher than 3 is just an AI file embedded in the EPS. Corel Draw won't read that anyway.

The files are designs for t-shirts with patterns, clipping masks, text  turned to objects etc.  More complex than simple I guess you could say.  What is EPS3?

It's EPS version 3.

Can you tell what gets lost when importing into Corel Draw?

There might be some options you need to select when importing in Corel Draw about interpreting PostScript.
