We have started 2018 with a clean install on all IMac work stations x7 & server & Mac book pro x3. We are have repeated crashing when saving files from Illustrator. Some times it works and then it wont. File size does not seem to have any factor or saving locally or to the server either. Even running only illustrator and no other apps the computer gets slower and slower over half an hour. Running 2017 Imacs with 24gig ram. ? WTF

Yes there is one printer connected via the server and works fine. We also have the same proble on the macbook pro if they are working remote.

    So there are 2 issues:

    - saving errors

    - slow down

Is a printer connected, turned on and set up as the default printer?

Is that printer connected via a printer queue?

Illustrator doesn't particularly like printer queues. When opening or saving files it needs access to a printer. Otherwise bad things might happen.
