Illustrator Crashes When Copying - Illustrator 29.6.1 / Win 11

I’m experiencing an issue with Adobe Illustrator where I cannot copy anything. Both Ctrl+C and right-click > Copy cause the software to crash immediately. This has been happening repeatedly throughout the day.

Could you please advise on the cause and any possible solution? It’s really frustrating that Illustrator can’t handle such a basic function like copying without crashing.

Sorry about the trouble you are facing. I hope the issue is resolved by now. If not, I would like to know if you are using any clipboard app? Does resetting Illustrator preferences help resolve the issue as suggested above by @Met1? If not, I would suggest you to try running the app in Safe Mode and let us know how it goes.

Hola, has podido arreglarlo??? Yo llevo desde hace dos semanas o más que no puedo copiar y pegar en el mismo lugar y al pegar texto no me respeta las caraterísticas de este y menos aún copiar en illustrator y pegar en inndesign. Desinstale e instale todos los programas y  restablecí los pressets de fabrica y no se soluciona.

Hola, he tenido el mismo problema desde hace unos dos meses. Lo pude resolver desinstalando el Antivirus que tenía. Tal vez les ayude esto también.

¿Y qué antivirus has puesto después? ¿O funcionas sin antivirus?

Tenía TOTAL AV, pero luego de que funcionará por varios días, volvío a presentar problemas. La verdad ya no sé si era eso qué es.

Yo lo resolvi copiando (control + c) texto de otro programa abierto  y pegandolo a la ventana activa de Illustrator, como que desbloquea el comando, espero te funcione. Yo despues de 4 años sigo teniendo el mismo problema.

buenas, aunque llego varios años pasados, creo tengo una solución. Me falla tambien asi, podia usar ciertos comandos pero copiar, pegar y deshacer no. ya me habia acostumbrado a hacerlo todo desde la pestaña edicion cuando me di cuenta que tenia desconfigurado los valores por defecto jaja.

en la pestaña edicion → metodos de abreviado del teclado → (hasta arriba hay una pestaña desplegabe que puede decir "herramientas" ó "controles de menú").  controles de menu → otros varios (hasta abajo desplegas y ahi veras que estan desconfigurados). 

Solo tienes que poner de nuevo los comandos manualmente y ya.

Sorry to hear the copy-paste command has started acting up. Could you confirm if this happens with all files or only certain ones? Please also let me know your Illustrator version and operating system. Sometimes this can be caused by corrupted preferences or a conflict with antivirus or clipboard manager software, so try resetting Illustrator preferences and, if possible, running Illustrator in Safe Mode to see if it works there. Also, please confirm if your Illustrator is getting crashed while copying.

Hola! gracias por responder tan pronto, he estado probando estos días y sigue igual, tengo la última versión de AI 29.7.1, actualizado hoy. De windows 11 enterprice - versión 23H2 //  22631.5624.

También he restablecido las preferencias de Ai, he borrado todo, he vuelto a instalar y nada de nada. 

Y si, se bloquea durante la acción ctrl+ C o ctrl+x, es todo lo que influye en el portapapeles o así.

While I wait for my IT department to respond to my tickets regarding the Security update I have saved a very large Illustrator file with multiple artboards to an .aic (cloud file). Confirming I can copy and paste while working in the desktop app BUT saving the file to the cloud instead of local drive or SharePoint.

SCRAP the .aic idea as posted above. It worked at first but as soon as I converted/uploaded some getty vectors to cloud and tried to do more complex tasks it started crashing again 😞

It's 15 Aug here in Oz. IT department hasn't responded to my ticket so can only presume Adobe has fixed the issue as Copy isn't crashing app anymore.

Got the update on my work laptop yesterday—happy to say it finally fixed the Ctrl+C issue I’d been dealing with for two weeks!
