Illustrator Crashing when saving Mac

Everytime I try to save a file on my Mac OS Catalina Version 10.15.7 on illustrator it crashes. I updated the software to the 2021 version in hope it would resolve the problem but it did not work. Storage is not an issue and other softwares such a photoshop are running smoothly

Please try and install a PDF printer.

There is no guarantee that your issue is connected to amissing printer, but experience shows that for a lot of people it is.

You can also try and in the Preferences turn off save in background.

Also: please save to the internal disk

If you currently save to synchronized folders, please try and save to a "normal" location.

Also: corrupt fonts can cause this. As can font managers

Are there linked assets on servers? Illustrator might not like them

Is a printer connected, set up as the default printer and turned on?
