I'm trying to reload my copy of Illustrator CS5 after a PC failure but I keep getting the message. "Installer failed to initialize. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem"

How to I try and resolve this problem ?

    What do you mean "reload"?

What exactly happened to the PC? Did you install a new system? Replaced the harddisk?

    Which system is it?

Most likely you will need to re-install Illustrator, not just copy it from somewhere else.

Sorry Monica I should have added that I'm using windows 10 on a new hard disk and the Illustrator programme is from a Adobe Illustrator CS 5 CD. I have tried to load it a couple of times and each time I get the message "Installer failed to Initialize".

You could try the download versions (you will still need the serial number)

Download Adobe Creative Suite 5 products

But your system might not be fully compatible anymore (nobody knows this for certain as it is not tested anymore), so you might experience anything. You will need to install in 32 bit compatiblity mode and whatnot. I suppose there is information available on how to install prehistoric software on modern systems, you should do some research on that.

If it still does not work, then that's that.
