Illustrator delays or hangs on Save

When Saving a file, Illustrator goes to Not Responding.  It seems to happen on large and small files.  It doesn't seem to matter if I save to the network or my local hard drive.  On one specific file used for testing, it will Save quickly on other machines, but delays on mine.  And in this test case it will pop up a message that says "Reading EPS file" with a progress bar as well before the save finally finishes.

    Illustrator checks your serialization during saving, so flushing your OOBE can help with that.

    I do not work on windows anymore to check, but the OOBE used to be here on CC 2015

    remove the opm.db file located here: C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE

    What's in the file?

    Are all fonts OK?

    Any plugins in use?

    Which options are set for saving?

    Is a printer installed and turned on?

    What’s in the file?  The files all vary but usually just text, images (jpgs, png, eps files), and then vector things that I created in illustrator -  the problem happens with all files.

    Are the fonts OK?  I’m not sure how I would verify this?

    Plugins?  None in use.

    Options set for saving?

    Version: CC

    Fonts: 100%

    Options checked are Create PDF, Embed ICC, and Use Compression

    Printers installed and on?

    There are no local printers, only network, and they are up and running.

    Oops, sorry!

    Generally, we save on the network, but the problem occurs saving to the local desktop as well.


    Are those printers in a printer queue? Illustrator does not like printer queues. try and install a PDF printer instead.

    To check your fonts there are tools available. Some font management tools have them included.
