Illustrator does not let me do anything

A black box in the center randomly appeared when I tried to use illustrator for the first time since last wednesday and it just wont let me do anything. It seems to act similarlyish to a popup window but there is no seperate tab for it like one should have so idk what to do about it

Quit all apps (what is that there that you also have running?).

Trash your Illy prefs.

Restart only Illy and see if that fixes it...

Are you signed into Adobe Cloud?

Black screen

• Rename CEP folder from /Library/Application Support/Adobe  to CEP.old
