Illustrator Drop Shadows appear blocky and bumpy

My illustrator drop shadows seem to be blocky, and I'm not doing anything wrong. Anyone else have this issue?

Are you using GPU preview? What scale are you viewing this at? Even with 300PPI you can zoom in to see the pixels.

Using GPU preview, or not, doesnt matter. This psd I made from a clean silo, and copied/paste and deleted the backround layer. I've been doing this for 22 years and this is recent for about 6 months, I've noticed. See screenshot. It's not a settings thing.

This is a very different result from the first image you shared. In The first image it almoset looked like a banding issue. Why I suggested GPU artifact.

In the second image I am not seeing the same blockiness.

If you cause the object to rasterise can you confirm that it is a rendering error as opposed to a screen drawing error? The middle image looks strange to me but I do see the irrecular form of the thin black shape even in the shadow. (Not sure what the term "silo" means here, for me a silo is a storage for grain.) When you say deleted background is there a pixel mask or a vector mask (clipping path) that is removing the background.

Agree with @Ton Frederiks in that a sample file would help to identify if it is a file or computer setup issue.
